Christina Roodé

School Counselor, Tulsa Public Schools

Howdy! My name is Christina Roodé. I am the current school counselor for John Hope Franklin Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and nationally recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). I am currently on my way to acquiring my LPC, and my current points of interest are Child Psychology, and LGBTQ+ Affirming Care. I graduated from Northeastern State University with my Bachelor's in Science in 2019 and my Master's in School Counseling in 2022.

Though I have lots of letters that might follow my name, I am very green to the field of social-emotional work. However, I have a natural knack for children and am on my current journey to growing as a counselor in every respect. I found Peekapak when I first began the school year and felt like my school's current SEL curriculum just wasn't working for me. The Dean of my school mentioned Peekapak and once I acquired access, I fell in love with the way the lessons were delivered. The memorable and relatable characters, the interactive games, and the stories for each lesson not only impact the way I teach my students, but impact the way I can teach my SEL curriculum as a newfound school counselor. I couldn't be more grateful to have such a hands-on curriculum for my kids!
